I've gathered information, background, discussion questions, a recipe, and more in one place to help you plan your gathering.

Share the guide with your group before you meet, or print a copy to bring along. You can use the questions to lead your discussion and the included recipe to add a little something special to your gathering.

A Few Conversation Starters

Before you dive into the downloadable guide, here are a few questions to get everyone talking. Save discussion of the ending until everyone has finished reading!

  • Which character stayed with you most after you finished the book, and why?
  • How did the two timelines shape the way you understood the story?
  • Where did you see moments of hope amid the characters' struggles?
  • Did the story change how you thought about home or belonging?
  • Which scene would you most like to discuss with another reader?

Make the Gathering Your Own

Your book club doesn't need a complicated plan. Try the recipe from the resource guide, pour your favorite drinks, and start by inviting everyone to share one moment from the book that stood out to them.

Some readers may connect with different parts of the story than you did. Leave room for those perspectives. That's part of the joy of reading together.

Thank you for spending time with The Road Home. I'd love to hear how your discussion went and what your group thought of the story!
